The Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL), in the capacity of a National CERT, has marked this October as Cybersecurity Awareness Month with a campaign titled „Let’s Be Cyber Aware“.
This campaign points to the relevance of cybersecurity, especially in the digitization process. We have all witnessed how the COVID – 19 pandemic increased the use of new technologies in all life segments throughout society by prompting both the digitization and the importance of cybersecurity. An efficient digital transformation benefits primarily the state and its needs, but also the entities that play a key role in this process’ success. The critical information structure and ICT systems it relies on are becoming more advanced and digitized, making their protection against cyber threats an ever growing challenge for the countries around the globe. Cyber threats are growing more frequent, complex and sophisticated.
The cybersecurity month is celebrated throughout the world, with Europe observing it for the first time in 2012. Ever since, the campaigns have promoted not only a safer and more responsible online behaviour, but also provided trainings and seminars aimed at educating end-users, preparing them for new challenges. The National CERT of the Republic of Serbia joined this event in 2019, by organizing workshops for the media and SMEs. During the COVID -19 pandemic, we continued with our trainings, whether in an online or in-person format.
The National CERT invites you to follow our web presentation and RATEL’s social networks, where we publish educational content and inform you about the activities prepared as part of the „Let’s Be Cyber Aware“ campaign.
