Dr. Vladica Tintor, director of RATEL, talked about the responsibilities of the Agency related to the National CERT i.e. the coordination of prevention and protection against security risks in ICT systems at the national level, in the morning show of the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
The audience was introduced with the Law on Information Security and the obligations of institutions and legal entities to adopt a Security Act that defines procedures for preventing incidents, ie mitigation of incidents that jeopardize the institutional competence and their activities.
Dr. Tintor also noted that the National CERT is running a Register of Special CERTs, specialized teams that can provide their services to companies that do not have their own IT teams for information systems protection.
Part of this interview was related to the most common types of attacks that citizens could be exposed to, along with instructions on how they can be recognized and evaded.
The basic recommendations to citizens are regular updating of software, creating back up of important documents, not opening messages from unknown senders, and adequate selection and storing passwords.
