The multinational cyber defense exercise "Cyber Tesla 2018" was organized as part of the Serbia–Ohio State Partnership Program, implemented on the basis of the Status of Forces Agreement – SOFA. The focus of the exercise was the protection of communication and information systems from cyber threats, with the goal of raising the cyber resilience of the Serbian Armed Forces, readiness to react to cyber threats and cooperate with other government authorities in carrying out cybersecurity activities.
Further to the exercises conducted in 2016 and 2017, "Cyber Tesla 2018" was carried out from 4th to 8th of June 2018 at the IT and Signals Training Centre in Gornji Milanovac. The exercise participants included members of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, Serbian Armed Forces, US Armed Forces - Ohio National Guard and government authorities of the Republic of Serbia with competences in the field of information security.
Based on the competencies of the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL), the Serbian Armed Forces exercise management invited RATEL to take an active part in this exercise. RATEL's Information Security and Technology Section Representatives participated actively in the exercise within different teams and briefed other participants about the role and competencies of RATEL as the National CERT.
