Fortinet releases security update related to the vulnerability of CVE 2018-13379, which is connected to the possible compromise of passwords on Fortinet devices. Exploitation of this vulnerability may allow an unauthenticated attacker to access FortiOS system files.

National CERT encourages users to apply all available updates in order to prevent any kind of misuse by the attacker. Additionally, National CERT recommends Fortinet users conduct a thorough review of logs on any connected networks to detect any additional threat actor activity.
