The National CERT of the Republic of Serbia warns all citizens about an ongoing phishing campaign in which citizens are sent fake messages about alleged traffic fines and payment discounts. By misusing the names of state authorities, citizens are misled into believing that they have been issued a fine and are invited to pay it via fraudulent internet domains.

The National CERT advises citizens not to open suspicious links in messages, nor to enter personal and banking details on unverified websites and to check all information exclusively via the eGovernment portal or the competent organizational units of the Ministry of the Interior.

Official communication with citizens regarding traffic violations is carried out by the Ministry of the Interior exclusively via the eGovernment portal and its electronic mailbox service (eSanduče).

In the coming period, variations in the domain names and institutions to which malicious actors refer can be expected.
